Addressing Selection Criteria can easily be misunderstood. EDN | Midwest can teach you how to answer selection criteria and guide you through the process.

I don’t have a computer. Can I access a PC at EDN | Midwest.

 

EDN | Midwest have free access to PC’s for all clients including the latest software for resumes and applications including high speed internet for job search and applications on-line.

Funding for Over 40's

I am over 40 and require training to become 'more employable'. Can EDN | Midwest assist me with training funds?

EDN | Midwest run the Profit from Experience Program for clients 40 and over or 35 and over for indigenous clients. If you are unemployed or under-employed and not eligible for Federal Government assistance EDN | Midwest may be able to assist you with up to $500 towards your training needs.

Work Experience

I wish to do Work Experience with an employer. Will I be covered for accident insurance?

 

No. Unless you have your own accident insurance cover, unpaid work experience is not covered by workers compensation. However EDN | Midwest can provide you with free cover while you engage in Work Experience and can also assist with your placement.

I want to research information on different career options. Does EDN | Midwest have any information that could help?

 

EDN | Midwest have an excellent free resource library with the latest information available in publications, video, DVD and online.

 

 

I’m not sure which career I am best suited to. Can EDN | Midwest provide me with Career Guidance?

 

EDN | Midwest have excellent career guidance assistance available. The Careermate program is a question and answer format easily completed in less than 60 minutes. Our career counsellor will then go through the report with you and develop an action plan for you based around the career options that best suit your personality.

I have an interview for a job in a regional area. The employer has access to Video Conferencing. Can EDN | Midwest assist?

 

Yes. EDN | Midwesthas a professional Video Conferencing facility available for clients to utilise.

I live in a remote regional area and would like career guidance and job search skills assistance. How can EDN | Midwest help?

 

EDN | Midwest can provide assistance through the Telecentre Network. Telecentres exist in most regional towns and can register clients for EDN | Midwest allowing access to our services through video conference facilities.

EDN | Midwest clients can use our e-mail, telephone, fax, photo-copying activities for job search related activities free of charge.
